Travis Manion Foundation provides life-changing programs for families of the fallen, including those in the Naval Special Warfare community. For the first time in a while, I was able to focus on someone other than myself. I found a place to land all the love, joy and energy that I had bottled up since the loss of my spouse. I found a way to feel useful. I found purpose.
This trip has been an amazing experience. It has tested every part of my being at some point, but it’s also brought so much joy just to be here, to be around everyone in the wilderness and be able to unplug ourselves. … It’s just us out here, getting to know each other, getting to know more about ourselves and our loved ones and our journey onward from loss into our own lives.
